Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard

Marie-Alix CANU BERNARD is a lawyer at the Paris Bar and at the Criminal International Court. Since 1991, she pleaded numerous cases in front of criminal national jurisdictions, but she interacts regularly in front of the European Court of Human Right where she obtained principle’s decisions. She is a former member of the Council of the Order, responsible of the open Criminal Commission of Paris Bar and Vice-president of the Criminal Law Institute. She participated, as a criminal lawyer, in several seminars in France and internationally.

Agnès Lowenstein

Agnès LOWENSTEIN is registered at the Paris Bar since 2011, same year than her jointure at Marie-Alix CANU BERNARD. Later she became a partner of the office CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIÉS. She mainly practices in General Criminal Law, Criminal Law of Business Affairs, Criminal Labor Law. She also exercises in Press Law, Family Law and Social Law, through different cases. She has a Licence of Criminal Law, and a DEA of Political Law that she obtained at the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas.

Marie SABY

Marie Saby joined CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIES in 2021.

She holds a Master II - DJCE in business law and a certificate of specialisation in company law, as well as graduating top of her class from the Collège Supérieur de Droit at Toulouse I Capitole University.

Before devoting herself to criminal practice, Marie Saby also trained in employment law with a number of international law firms and with judges at the Paris Court of Appeal.

Iseut MERTZWEILLER

Iseut MERTZWEILLER joined CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIES in 2025.

She holds a Master II in Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and a Master I in Judicial Careers and Criminal Sciences from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2021, Iseut MERTZWEILLER worked with several renowned criminal lawyers before joining CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIES. She specializes in general criminal law, business criminal law and press law.

Damien

Damien TRIBALLEAU

Damien TRIBALLEAU joined CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIES in 2025.

Trained by Barristers (Conseil d'Etat and Cour de cassation) as well as by renowned criminal lawyers in Paris, he mainly practices general criminal law, business criminal law and press law.

He holds a Master II in General Theory and Analysis of Law from the Ecole Normale Supérieure, UPN and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2024, Damien TRIBALLEAU works on all of the firm's cases. He works in French and English.

Matthieu

Matthieu ROTA

Matthieu ROTA joined CANU-BERNARD ASSOCIES in 2025, after graduating from the EFB.

A Sciences Po alumnus, he holds a specialised Master's degree in litigation and arbitration and a second Master's degree in financial criminal law. He completed his training with several internships at French law firms and in the public prosecutor's office and the investigating magistrate's office, where he worked on the prosecution of business criminal law offences.

A member of the Paris Bar since 2025, Matthieu ROTA focuses his practice on general and business criminal law and litigation. He speaks English and Italian.
